Amber offered me a fun Sunday surprise when she invited me to go to the White House Garden Tour. One weekend every spring, the White House opens the South Lawn to allow members of the public to view the White House gardens.
I went with Amber, Chappy, JJ, Kristen Glenn and Autumn Hinton and we had a great time wandering the south drive, walking past the south portico and looking into the Rose Garden and the outside of the Oval Office.
This year, with the Obamas, we also saw Malia and Sasha’s playground and the vegetable garden that Mrs. Obama planted with local school children. It had been at least 13 years since I’d been on the south lawn of the White House, so it was a very fun way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Thanks, Amber!
