Spring in NYC

For Christmas, Susan gave me a ticket to see Newsies on Broadway. A fun excuse to head up to NYC for a weekend.

We arrived early on Saturday and headed straight to the Highline Park, which is comprised of the old elevated railroad tracks around the Meatpacking District.

 Right in the heart of the city is this unique parkland - we loved it! It's only about a 20-block walk, but it's terrific.

 A quick stop for Susan to grab a soft pretzel - a NYC staple!

 At the end of the Highline lies the Meatpacking District....and Pastis. A yummy French bistro with delicious baguettes, argula salad and sirloin burgers!

The main event: Newsies. Unbeknownst to me, the whole premise of the show is the unionization of news boys. Ugh...I told Susan that I objected to the storyline on principle....but I did still enjoy the show!

 A Sunday walk through Central Park on our way to brunch. Is there anything better than Central Park in April??

It was a short, but perfect, NYC weekend.
