Country Music Night!

Last night was my second time seeing Brad Paisly in concert, and he did not disappoint! He's such a great performer, and he sang all of my favorite songs....as well as a few new ones that are now also on my "favorites list"! I'm already looking forward to his next tour!

Beach Week!

It's my favorite week of the year: OBX! I love me some Outer Banks!

 

This year, a small group of us - Amber, Lindsay, Jill, Susan, Julianna, Alicia and I - went down to Corolla and did NOTHING for six days. Total heaven!

Our house was really great, but it was in a crappy neighborhood - Ocean Sands. As we discussed, "we are not Ocean Sands people. We're Whalehead or Buck Island people!"

This is the first year that everyone was reading on a Kindle - gotta love technology, even at the beach!

We hated Ocean Sands in part because the beach access was a 15 minute walk. Thank goodness Lindsay was willing to be our sherpa!

Chappy decided to channel her inner Olympian. You have to hand it to her....the girl is 41-years old and she's as bendy-flexy as a 12-year old!

I love Chappy's literature of choice! Hahaha...

All in all, it was a quick week (why do vacation weeks always go by so much faster than a work week??) but I had a marvelous time!

London Calling

It's my favorite time! The Olympics opened last Friday night in London and I've been suffering from lack of sleep ever since! The time delay on broadcasting events means the events coverage ends at midnight and I'm waking up at 5:40 a.m. to work out! Ugh! But it's so worth it!

I love cheering on Team USA, and I find that I'm watching sports I'd never otherwise watch: water polo, rowing, beach volleyball, fencing, diving, volleyball, whitewater canoeing, bicycling....and on and on. Of course, I've been riveted by my favorites: men's and women's swimming and men's and women's gymnastics. I clapped, cheered and cried my way through the US women winning the gold medal in gymnastics; I cringed and mourned while watching the US men's team fall apart during their gymnastics final; and I've been glued to the set for all of the golds the team has won in the pool.

I love the Olympics so much! In fact, I just went on the Team USA website because I think I might "need" a $145 Team USA warm up jacket. Is it worth $145 to dress like an Olympian as I walk into the gym? It's ridiculous, but knowing me, I'll do it!
