An extra treat during my Colorado weekend was lunch with Mom, Allen, Jocelyn and Sawyer. 
While the lunch was ostensibly for Susan's birthday, Sawyer wasn't really interested in sharing "his" birthday. It simply didn't go over well when we tried to tell him it was Susan's birthday. So we enjoyed a "shared" birthday and shared birthday cake!I hadn't seen him since Thanksgiving, so it was fun to spend a little time with him. Over the past few months, he's learned that his name begins with an S and that Susan and I also have names that begin with S. The real shocker: our names all end with "Shelden." It was a pretty fun to watch him discover all of this. Of course, the most important knowledge he's acquired is that Superman and Spiderman also start with S. Aunts Sarah and Susan are one thing, but Superman and Spiderman are a whole new bag of fun!
Susan took advantage of the superhero talk to teach Sawyer how Spiderman casts his webs. Unfortunately, this little lesson took place on the streets of LoDo in Denver. She looked like a wack-a-doo, but Sawyer soaked it all in!
